Youth Ministries
The Son's Rays meet twice a month on Sunday evenings. This is a group for elementary aged children and their families. Activities for this group include seasonal parties, service projects, educational programs, and lots of fun.
On Sun., Feb. 7th., the
Son's Rays sponsored a
"Souper Bowl of Caring" collection in support of the

Our Middle School and High School youth, also known as CLUCK, meet twice a month on Sunday evenings.
The above photograph of a
local garden features potatoes, broccoli, lettuce, peppers, tomatoes and squash and reminds us of
God's abundance and
generosity as well as
the amazing fertility of God's good earth. The harvesting of surplus vegetables, fruits and other food from local farms and gardens to be distributed to needy families and homeless people is at the heart of an
Area Lutheran Gleaning Ministry being spearheaded and organized by the
Area Lutheran Youth. To

Philadelphia's Youth joined with Lutheran Youth from the Dallas -- Gaston Area
on Sunday, April 18, 2010, 6:00 PM -- 7:30 PM for a
Bible Study & Fellowship Forum at Morgan's Ice Cream Bar, Dallas. The topic was:

Confirmation Ministry at Philadelphia Lutheran Church is a two and a half year education program of intensive Biblical and theological study and spiritual nurture for all youth entering the 8th grade in preparation for the Affirmation of Baptism and The Rite of Confirmation. Youth participate in local confirmation cluster meetings that average once per month as well as a week of confirmation camp (also known as Campfirmation) at Lutheridge in Arden, NC (near Asheville.)
