There are many opportunities to participate in education ministries at Philadelphia Lutheran Church including the following:

 

Sunday, August 29, 2010 was RALLY DAY!  Special THANKS goes to all who provided the delicious breakfast and the Educational Ministry Committee who coordinated the special inter-genrational learning event that helped celebrate the beginning of the New Sunday Church School Year. Rally Day reminds us of the biblical mandate included in Christ’s Great Commission (Matt. 31:31) that we are to baptize, teach and make disciples of all nations. Philadelphia strives to provide meaningful, challenging, substantive, biblically grounded, theologically informed, Christ centered and relevant learning opportunities for ALL AGES. Every Sunday provides every one of us with a great opportunity for outreach and evangelism. Outreach for the Church, the body of Christ in today’s world is not a debatable option. We are called and commanded by our Lord to lovingly and persistently reach out and invite relatives, friends, neighbors, former church members, the prominent, the rich, the powerful, the well connected, as well as backsliders, dirt bags, cheat thieves, social outcasts, misfits, slime buckets -- sinners we are of all sorts -- and anyone in our circles of contact who is not actively involved in a church community to reconnect with The Church and share in the weekly rhythm of worship and learning. Summer Day Camp 2011

The week of (July 11-15, 2011) Philadelphia Lutheran Church in partnership with Agape - Kure Beach Ministries will again sponsor a week of Summer Day Camp. Trained and supervised staff provide a wonderful week of wholesome learning and spiritual nurture (6 hours each day, 9:00 AM -- 3:00 PM) for children Grades 1-5. The Day Camp is an opportunity for children to meet new friends and share in fellowship, learning activities, outdoor events, crafts, Bible study, worship, music and snacks while also having a joyful time and being nurtured in the Christian Faith. Registration is now open. Philadelphia helped sponsor our recent Dallas Area Lutheran Vacation Bible School (VBS).  Bible stories, learning events, special activities, crafts, games, worship, music, a fellowship meal, and learning opportunities for ALL Ages made our 2010 VBS a great Faith Nurturing opportunity for The Whole Family.

During the week of June 17-23, 2012, Philadelphia will participate with 10 other Lutheran congregations in CAMPFIRMATION 2012 at Lutheridge. Confirmation Ministry at Philadelphia Lutheran Church is a two and a half year education program of intensive Biblical and theological study and spiritual nurture for all youth entering the 8th grade in preparation for the Affirmation of Baptism and The Rite of Confirmation. Youth participate in local confirmation cluster meetings that average one per month as well as a week of confirmation camp (also known as Campfirmation) at Lutheridge in Arden, NC (near Asheville.)
